...and that's only the queue (can you even call it a queue? More of a pulsing mass) to one side of us...AND a bus had just left crammed full to the rafters, so these are just the ones who didn't fit on or were waiting for a different line.
We checked the distance to Baker Street...4.5 miles. So off we went on foot. And made it. I was never so glad to see that street sign. Thought about getting a taxi, but traffic was bumper to bumper anyway so at least this way we were moving!
Purchased souvenirs and stopped in a little place for lunch. The souvenir shop bag offered itself up as a fine booster seat.
Then it was time for the long 4.5 mile walk back. This is us the second we made it through the door of our room:
After a brief nap, we freshened up again for Hamlet and set out once more. Met up with a couple of new faces tonight and shared a little drink up at the Martini Bar.
And then in for Hamlet once more, which was even more enjoyable the second time around.
Altogether today we walked nearly 13 miles, and fortunately I had the bulk of this draft written already before getting back tonight, as I'm feeling a bit not good. So if the last couple of bits sound terse, that's why.
Tucked into bed and ready to sleep as soon as I hit the Publish button. Goodnight!
